NTX 7s at Las Colinas July 24

Plano Rugby is hosting the next tournament in the North Texas 7s Rugby Series. It will be held at Plano's new home pitch, the Las Colinas Polo Club at 600 E. Royal Lane, Irving TX. If coming from Luna Rd, you'll have to make a U-turn just over the bridge and come back, then turn right into the center.

Show up to practice this week so that we can get a head count. Those with better attendance get premium game time. Canterbury and guys who have been running with us from other schools are included and welcome, please show up.

The games are scheduled to start at 8:00AM, so be there dressed and ready to roll at 7:30AM. This is a bigger tournament with more youth divisions - U11, U13, U15 with girls divisions along with our U17/19. The tournament will be run in a more regimented and orderly fashion, so timeliness is required. Be there on time!

Also, there is an actual entry fee that we will be required to pay. Each player will have to bring $5 U.S Currency to play. Cheap!

Here's the tournament flier with the wrong date - it's really July 24!

Mavs Plan for Plano Tourney 7/24

The Mavericks are skipping the Houston Woodlands Tournament this weekend and gearing up for the rescheduled NTX 7s Plano Tournament on July 24. This will be held at the Las Colinas Polo Club.

If you are interested in going to the Woodlands and picking up with another team for the day, contact Coach Kelly.

The last 7s Tournament of the summer will be the Dallas Mudfish 7s held in late August. This is not part of the NTX 7s Series, but has been a very competitive and fun tournament in the past.

July 10 Tournament Postponed to July 24

There will be no NTX 7s Tournament this weekend, Saturday July 10. Plano has postponed the tournament at the polo grounds until July 24. No reasons were given, but I'm sure they were good. All the details will remain the same, except for the date.

Grand Prairie is scheduled to host the next tournament on Saturday July 17 at our home pitch, Prairie Park in Grand Prairie. More details will come later.

Mavericks Win Tourney, Now Preparing for This Weekend

The Maverick High School team won first place in the latest of the NTX 7s Series tournaments. Though we were missing regulars, Jacob and Kasey, the return of vets, Tony and Lorenzo, had quite a positive impact. Both had good games. The Canterbury students summering with the Mavericks also strengthened the side and gave those players needing rest a chance to do so.

Mavericks, again, have the honor of hosting the next North Texas 7s Series Tournament at home on Saturday 6/19. Even more teams are slated to show. Expected field arrival time will be at 8:00 AM Saturday morning. It will not be any cooler, so we are pressing for earlier finishes, before the heat becomes oppressive.

Attendance at practice is mandatory!
