There are a few important schedule changes!!

The game this Saturday 3/6 against Plano has been switched to play Jesuit at 9:30 AM at Glencoe Park in Dallas . That's right! A morning game! Be at the field at 8:15 AM. You'll have the rest of the day to do the chores your Mom has for you.

Our Alliance game on 3/27 has been moved to Lake Highlands Park, Dallas with a time yet to be set. It will be a tournament style format where we play teams from the Austin area too.

See you at practice Thursday and then bright and early Saturday morning.

The Grand Prairie Mavericks host the Canterbury School at Prairie Park at 1:00 this Saturday 2/27.

Players please arrive at 11:30 to assist in setting up the field. Allen players will be present to fill out the side after completing their U15 game in Plano, arriving close to 12:30.

After many weeks, the weather finally looks promising for rugby. The game against Alliance is set for 1:30 in Keller. Please show up to the pitch around noon. The directions are on the schedule page of our web site.

Confirmed player attendance due to snowy weather and anticipated icy roads has forced the cancellation of the Plano match this Saturday 2/13/2010. Sorry boys! Do something with your Mother for Valentines Day instead.

The game against Plano on Saturday 2/13/2010 has been changed to start at 11:00 AM in Grand Prairie, due to Plano field conditions and referee availability.

Players, please show up to the field at 10:00 AM.

No practice tonight, Thursday 2/11/2010, the practice fields are closed due to the abundance of snow.

Again, please ensure that you have CIPPed yourself (registered and paid your USA Rugby dues) following the directions on this site. This must be done in order to play Saturday.

We have a game set for Wednesday 2/3 at Jesuit 7:30. Be there at 6:30. We are combining with Allen to fill out a full side against Jesuit's Varsity side. Your presence is not mandatory but if we have good attendance and depending upon performance we may call off practice on Thursday. Again, be there at 6:30. Traffic going East on 635 at this time is very heavy, so plan accordingly.

And... There is a game scheduled Saturday 2/6 noon back at Jesuit. This time Allen will assist us on filling out a full team. Attendance to this match is mandatory. Be there at 11:00.

We are still accepting and recruiting new players, so friends are welcome and will get some game time, if they would like. Bring them out to both games.

This Saturday's match, 1/30 is canceled due to very cold weather! No Game!!

We could reschedule to play at Dallas Jesuit this Wednesday starting around 5:30, but I need a commitment from our players before saying yes. The Grand Prairie Maverick High School team is combining with Allen to play against Alliance. The game starts at Noon on our home field, Prairie Park. Please show up by 11:00. We will show you how to set up the pitch for the match. This includes putting up flags and goal post pads.

Alliance will play Coppell right after our game.

* Barbarians = Mavericks plus Alliance, Coppell and Plano JV/U17

We will combine with Plano to make a full team.

Maverick HS Ruggers should show up at the home pitch at 11:00AM. We will help Mr. Kurylas and others to set up the field.

Don't forget a mouthpiece! You can get them for a dollar, but you have to boil them to mold.

Remember to bring some friends. This scrimmage will be the best chance for new players to try out the game. There will be plenty of coaching and opportunities to play. We have a great core of young men, but we need more athletes to increase our numbers. With more players our team will become better. So bring out friends, brothers, cousins, nephews or even very tough sisters.

The Maverick High School Rugby Team is hosting a round robin (or 3 way) scrimmage at our home pitch this Saturday, 1/23. The start time will be announced by the end of the week. Invited teams are Alliance and Plano. Each team will play at least 2 games. This is a great opportunity to bring out that friend who has been wanting to play. There will be plenty of time for coaching and introducing the game to the new guys. Even if your friend is "on the fence" and not too sure about playing, invite him out to get some exposure to the greatest sport on Earth. See you Saturday!
